...Metric is the way forward!
At least with chilled out tunes like "gimme sympathy" they are; laid-back, soft melodies and clever lyrics whispered gently to my ears make this tune a must-have for those hungover mornings when all you need is a little boost from a song caressed into your brain. Beautiful :-
Metric may be awesome, but Metronomy is the science of metrics (?) and as such has to be cool... exceot science isn't cool. Full stop. I dunno, I can't work out if it's cool or not, and I just can't figure out if Metronomy's 'Heartbreaker' is cool either... So how about a cheeky bassed-up remix of it? well, I still find myself half-loving it, half-can't understand the wierd background bloops and bleeps, or the strangly presented lyrics. Still, coolness is relative, so make up your own mind :-
I love MSTRKRFT, the crafty little bugger is just so heavy with bass and epic with piano that his music excites me oh so much. It seems Heartbreaking is topic of the day, and remixing is always my favourite kind of mixing. Wolfgang Gartner is my latest remixer of choice. It's not just big bass pumping my heart (which isn't broken right now) that I love, it's the way the bass makes me wanna move, and The Wolf certainly gets my party feet moving :-
Mr Hudson has been romping his way up the charts and into the hearts of the UK with his 'Supernova' hit with the self-loving Kanye, and finding remixes of this tune is like trying to find happy kids in a candy shop. Well, I had a browse through 'em all, and found the Phat-ist of them all. It takes about a minute for this song to get going, so hold on tight for the big club beats and suave synth to take hold :-
It's remix after remix today, so I have apologise for being unable to love originals like I ought to. Nneka's original 'Heartbeat' is a chilled out tune filled with pain and turmoil. Now it's been filled with a big beat and plenty of hand-raising opportunities. And that's why we love remixes :-
